What Kind of Blade Do I Need for Coin Cutting?

You will get good results with the jeweler’s blades. Look for some 2/0 or 3/0 Pike blades.

You can find them online (see below). It’s important to remember that the smaller the blades are, the easier they will break.

A 2/0 is a larger blade than a 3/0. We recommend that you buy them in gross because you will go through a lot of them, especially while you’re learning.

One other thing to note if you’re not used to working with tiny blades is that #2 is very different from #2/0.

When you’re ordering your blades, make sure that you order #2/0 or #3//0.

The #2/0 is less likely to break because it’s larger than the #3/0. However, the 3/0 will allow you to make sharper inside corners.
