Twenty Texans by Betsy Warren

Twenty Texans: Historic Lives for Young Readers by Betsy Warren was another book we greatly enjoyed about the Lone Star state!

It was recommended to me by a “born and raised” Texas Mama as they say it down here. She loves living books every bit as much as I do, so I had no doubts it’d be a good one.

Sure enough, it appealed to our whole crew as we learned about 20 mostly famous and a few lesser known Texans through the pen of an author who was clearly passionate about her topic!

We learned about the men behind city names that have become familiar to us, famous cowboys, authors, scientists, artists, Native Americans, Presidents, and more.

Texas history is filled with colorful characters and wild adventures, and this book brought them all a little closer to home.

A highly recommended addition to the “Texas History” section of your home library, especially for children 12 and under. The chapters are short (2-3 pages), simple, and engaging – perfect for a Morning Basket

You can purchase used copies of Twenty Texans, here , quite inexpensively considering how difficult this book is to find!
